Tortilleria Veleta was born from a simple conviction: that the best tortillas are made slowly, by hand, with ingredients you can taste. What started as a family kitchen has grown into a quiet fixture of Ulysses — a place where neighbors come for warm tortillas and leave feeling like they've been welcomed home.

Every batch of masa is mixed the old way. Every tortilla is pressed, cooked, and stacked while still warm. We don't rush it, because the people who rely on us every morning deserve nothing less than what our families have always deserved.

Corn Tortillas

The heart of everything we do. Nixtamalized corn, pressed fresh, cooked on a cast-iron comal until golden and pliable.

Flour Tortillas

Buttery, soft, and layered with the kind of texture that only comes from hand-kneading and resting the dough properly.

Tamales

Wrapped in corn husks and steamed until tender. Available in a rotating selection of chicken, pork, and seasonal varieties.

Bread & Rolls

Bolillo, telera, and conchas — baked fresh each morning with a crisp crust and a soft, pillowy interior.

Churros

Crisp on the outside, tender within, rolled in cinnamon sugar and served with a side of warm chocolate for dipping.
